1) Just as Israel faced an enemy they could not defeat so we face enemies we cannot defeat ourselves
2) Just as God provided David as Israel’s champion so God has provided Christ as our champion
3) Just as David fought as Israel’s representatve so Christ fought as the representative of His people
4) Just as David defeated Goliath through apparent weakness so Christ conquered through the apparent weakness of the cross
5) Just as David’s victory became Israel’s victory so Christ’s victory becomes the victory of everyone who belongs to Him
